How to make Firefox Load FAST like Internet Explorer

ie_ff.jpg

Have you ever noticed how fast Internet Explorer loads compared to the Firefox? Although Firefox’s great with access to configuration as described in “Improve & Optimize Firefox“, its loading time can be annoying.

Regardless of how fast your computer is, Firefox would load up slower than Internet Explorer, and it is because Window XP pre-loads IE in its startup. Firefox developers claim that they’ve decided not to do the same, however there is a way for us to fix this up to let it load as fast as IE

ff_properties.png

  1. Put a Firefox shortcut in your Start Menu if you don’t already have one.
  2. As the picture shown left, look for Target section, it would probably say something similar to “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
  3. At the very end of that, simply add “/Prefetch:1” (<– Without the Quotation Marks)
  4. So it would probably look like “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe” /Prefetch:1

Tada! Now, Firefox would load up as fast as Internet Explorer, no need to be patient about its loading time anymore =)

Dude, this is rubbish. Why dont you check what you copy and paste/post?

Bambo, I would like to clarify this out.

I did get this source from a site, so I gave them the credit, however, it is not from the site you’ve given me,

I’ve gotten it from trap17.com as the credit above,

and I would never ever simply copy/paste any articles that I post up.

Please understand that there are tons of sites out there, so it may have seemed like I’ve done what you said, but please check, I’ve put this up because I found it useful for myself, and I just wanted to share with everyone.

I hope you understand.

kevin, welcome to mymyTech.

I hate to simply take other’s hard work like that as I would hate it vice versa, and hopefully explained it thoroughly for Bambo.

But a note for myself, I must not forget to give credits!

I don’t know about the rest of you but somehow I found Firefox is much faster than IE since first I downloaded it..

Dunn, I agree as well.

Internet Explorer takes way too much physical memory compared to Firefox

I think there should have been a list of sources at the end of the topic. If you do so, no one can say anything. Any way thank you.

sJ_Dan Identicon Icon
subrata roy, yes I’ve put a single source, the only site, not multiple. Are we really here to argue about such thing? Oh by the way, Mozilla Firefox Beta 3 takes less memory!
