Cheapest & Most Affordable Car in the World?

tata_nano.jpg

We all want Cars, but money is something that prevents us from buying New or Better Cars. In India, it is known that only few out of 1000 people would own a car, most likely used. Taking advantage of that issue, Ratan Tata took his steps to create a car that is the most affordable, and cheap that typical people can own. He says that “People’s Car” will be a “safe, affordable, all weather vehicle for a family which is today traveling on a two wheeler.” The Tata Nano Car, is announced to cost about 100,000 rupees, which is equivalent to approximately $2,500.

What’s the lowest price you’ve seen on a car? In 1970s, Honda introduced their affordable Civics for about $2,200 and it would go for +10k in today’s economy. Although this Nano Car has tiny wheels, an engine with 2 cylinders, top speed of 60 miles per hour, the great low price makes up for it. Not only the price beats all, it’s fuel efficiency as well. The company claims that it’ll give 50 miles per gallon, which is the greatest out of any other vehicles.

There has been sayings that it’ll be imported to USA in future, and I’m surely excited for that. If it’s hard to find a decent used car for couple of thousands of dollars, why not get this $2,500 worth car. Hmm, but considering the minimum speed limits of typical highways in USA, I don’t think it’ll be able to keep up.

The owner even announced that it may be possible to create a cheaper car! How unbelievable~

For more details, check out the Tata Nano Site, it’s interesting!
